Back from a break

Hello again! Its been a long time. What a year 2020 has been! I thought its time to fill you in on what I've been up to..

This year I was expecting to get a lot of work done, and be busy with releasing lots of patterns, working with some more magazines and venturing into the world of garment design. Instead, I have had my hands full with a new addition to our family! Our third baby girl was born at the beginning of August. She has been such a delightful baby. Frustratingly I was hit with Hypremesis Gravidarum (severe morning sickness) at the beginning of pregnancy and had to take a break from crocheting. My Instagram went quiet, and I didn't pick up a hook for months.

I am pleased to say that after getting over the worst of the sickness, I have been able to get right back into creating content and have even managed to publish two new patterns: the *Chestnut Earwarmers and the Coming Home baby Set

The Chestnut Earwarmers are a really quick and easy, cosy design which you can whip up in an afternoon, and would make an excellent gift! They need less than one ball of chunky yarn, and the pattern has measurements for child, small adult and adult sizes. It is designed with a stretchy knit-style section at the back to ensure the perfect fit.

The Coming Home Baby Set was something I had in my mind for a long time, and pregnancy finally got me to write it out. The pattern includes three finishes to the hat and bootie set; simple, ribbed and scalloped. We didn't find out the sex of our baby while pregnant, so I was eager to make something which was pretty and neutral, and would fit perfectly for that all-important first outfit on the way home from the hospital. I packed a white set into my hospital bag, and then had the pink set for after we found out she was a girl! I am so pleased with how they turned out. This set has been put away in our daughters keepsake box.

I have also started to design and write up the pattern for some children's mittens, which I am really excited for (who knew a basic mitten pattern would be so hard to find?!) So, I am truly throwing myself back into the deep end, and I have a long list of other ideas I can't wait to share.. for now, I am just thrilled to be back and for receiving such a great response to my latest designs.

You may also have noticed my website has been through a bit of a reshuffle too. I am still learning how this all works, but its been an enjoyable process and I am looking forward to being able to bring more posts to this platform. And on that note, I would love to hear your thoughts on things you would like to see on here, so do get in touch!

Thank you for baring with me, and stay tuned for more
